All schools of Feng Shui practice the balancing of the five elements. You maybe asking what they are and how do they work? Earth is one of the five elements in Feng Shui. I often find in my practice too many earth elements in a home and this needs to be balanced properly with other elements for maximum harmony.
First off, lets explain more about what ROCKS and the Earth element actually is. The earth element is about creating more security or stability in Feng Shui. Earth provides grounding and nourishment to life. Add earth elements to the areas of the Bagua that have a dominant earth element represented. In BTB, Western School Feng Shui, the areas of the Bagua that can be enhanced by additional earth elements are the love, health, wisdom, and the helpful people area. In Classical School Feng Shui you will review your Natal Chart and the Facing. Here are a few ways you can add or increase earth elements in your environment.
- Earth’s message: stability and security
- Earth’s colors: terra-cotta, yellow, browns, beige, colors associated with soil in your area
- Earth’s shape: square, low objects associated with the feeling of stability
- Earth objects or material: large scale furnishings, sand, clay, ceramics, marble, granite, river rocks, crystals, adobe brick, stucco
- Earth’s texture: firm not wobbly, associated with standing firmly
- Earth’s smell and taste: smell of soil, floral. musk
- Earth sounds: heartbeat like sounds, drums
- Creative element is fire (fire burns and produces ash, a form of earth)
- Destructive element is wood (wood saps earth’s nutrients)
- Reducing element is metal (metal is extracted from earth)
Use earth elements to increase feelings of unification, peace, stability and security. Fire produces earth and is a supportive element. Yellows, beige, browns and soil colors represent the earth element. Yellow is a cheerful and optimistic color. Brown can be a warm and solid color to add to your environment. If you are feeling stuck or stagnant in life you may have an over abundance of earth elements in your environment. Adding the right key decor items that contain metal and wood elements can help to reduce earth’s affects and restore balance to your environment.
Rocks, Shells and Crystals are all earth energy in Feng Shui. There are many times I recommend bringing in more earth elements to further balance or stabilize a troubled area of a home or office. I recommend always consulting with a Professional Feng Shui Consultant when you are looking to Feng Shui your place; as a Feng Shui book is not able to analyze the current elements that maybe out of harmony in a trouble area. We offer low cost mobile video chat Feng Shui consultations worldwide.
Many holistic minded people really like using Orgone/Organite in their homes and often place Orgone on their office desktop to help clear away stagnant or negative energy and reduce their exposure to EMF’S emitting from office equipment.
Orgone is said to take negative energy and turn it into positive energy. Orgone is often comprised or crystal combinations such as Rose quartz, clear quartz, amethyst and/or black tourmaline. Crystals are known to have healing and positive transformative effects and Orgone is a crystal product that has become increasingly popular and used often in the holistic field.
Where should I place my EARTH ELEMENT rose quartz in Feng Shui? Rose quartz is a LOVE and HARMONY stone. It is earth energy in Feng Shui and is often used to remedy areas lacking the love and harmony an occupant desires. Place rose quartz in areas you wish to enhance harmony and love such as your bedrooms and the Southwest or far back right corner (Love and Relationship) area of a space, depending on the school of feng shui you follow. For placement using Flying Star Feng Shui refer to the buildings natal chart and facing direction.
What is Selenite used for in Feng Shui? Selenite is a protective stone. I often use this stone near an entry point or to grid an area as a protective remedy. Black tourmaline is especially powerful for protection when combined with this stone in a protective grid.
WHERE DO I PLACE THE AMETHYST FOR GOOD FENG SHUI? Amethyst is another great Feng Shui cure for the following bagua areas: Northeast or front left (Spiritual Growth and Self-Cultivation) , Southeast or far back left (Wealth and Abundance). In Flying Star Feng Shui refer to the homes facing and year built for proper placement.
