So what is archityping and primary imaging exactly and how does it impact me in an environment?

Archityping and primary imaging are just one of many tools and techniques used in my Holistic Interior Design consultations.

In 1993, Beverly Masey, both an early pioneer in vision-science investigation and a design professional, began to investigate how to design spaces for trauma victims that would not prompt painful “flashbacks” of their traumatic experiences.This work led her to modify a standard neuroscience “Stroop test” for design use, and to develop a series of factor-analyses for this resulting “architectural Stroop test” using vision-science data. By 1996, she was able to format the test for general use and introduced the ArchiMap®, neuro-architecture’s first “real-world” application. Her work on this imaging diagnostic technique, called “Archityping”, is scientifically founded and based on research she was involved in at the Harvard University’s Medical Field.

Ms. Masey was awarded the Feng Shui Institute of America 2005 Visionary Award for her groundbreaking developments in the field of neuro-design. Her work connecting brain research to visual perception of the environment has led to the first applications for feng shui, architecture, and design professionals, and uses scientific means to identify the specific set of sub-consciously processed visual cues that cause each individual to react positively or negatively to various design schemes.

As an experienced Holistic Interior Design expert, as well as a graduate in 2005 from the Feng Shui Institute of America I was trained in these actual techniques. This allows me to identify how a person feels both a positively and negatively in different spaces. Using this technique helps me to further understand my clients physically feelings related to a space. This tool is used to help create environments that will best support the individual client.
